I have read carefully and with concern the article published by Time of Calabria about 26/01, entitled "A quick agreement on the port." From the bed, I find that little is known about the reality of the port and I care to see that the interview was conducted by the mayor.
A port, to define such, must provide a safe entrance and sheltered anchorage with any sea condition, which is currently not possible in spite of repeated dredging.
In fact, a port built on a sand bank, will inevitably have blocked the entrance to each sea. In addition, the high and dangerous waves, which are created because of the shallow water, make it virtually impossible for both the input and output in a rough sea, and is not a deed that will change the practicability.
In the part concerning the services, I am not aware that currently there is availability of electricity, mobile crane, engine repair, electrical repair and electronic and repair boats, unless you turn to outside firms that have nothing to do with port services, it's mooring, nor do any of the food supply divers.
Last summer, in hindsight, several dozens of boats in transit have not stopped in the port of Roccella but have continued due to the lack of fuel in place that, in fact non-existent services. Some years ago I installed three distributors, never entered into operation, which now make a fine show if rusted and abandoned.
In regard to the management, I trust that the saga of custody finally see a solution that can lead to the creation of jobs for our young people, although there is a problem is not insignificant: less than a month we will be the verdict of the TAR on operations.
It is worth mentioning that the city must leave the "Port of Grace Ltd," and because the company closed the last three budgets, and as always in red (Law 244/2007) can not hold shares in this type of society.
close with a clarification: the company Browsing Italy, the majority shareholder of the company "Porto delle Grazie Ltd", of which the City owns 20%, as well as having closed the last budget with an operating loss of approximately 3 million € is not a government agency (such as declared by the mayor), but a management company controlled by ports Invitalia (national agency for inward investment and enterprise development). I would be happy if the mayor the same things more on the statements made to the press, in order not to generate misinformation.
